The Finished Ripple

I forgot to post about my ripple afghan when I finished it.

I am a terrible blanket/ afghan maker. I lose focus and start about 50 other projects before I ever finish these larger ones. It only took me about 2 and half years to finish... That's really sad. I keep telling myself that the Patchwork will get done way before, yeah right, I'm thinking...and I'm sure you are too.

These are not the best photos, so I'll try to take better ones tomorrow. (the dark colors are actually a darker blue and purple). Yes, I broke my own picture taking rules...no natural light with these to show the true colors.

I'll also try to come up with a name for the new hat, so I can get that pattern posted.

Pillow Or Afghan?

Pillow or afghan is the question. What should I do with the hexagons? 

I'm thinking pillow for now. I am impatient and love those instant gratification projects. Or maybe I could make lots of hexis and make both. That'll take me 2 years...seriously.

I just finished my ripple afghan, finally, after almost exactly 2 years. I just get so bored with the same project.

I thought I would share a pillow that a fellow Raveler, Luisa, made from this pattern. Isn't it pretty?

Chevron Scarf Pattern

A reader requested the pattern for the chevron scarf that I'm still working on

So here it is

Materials

Size G or H crochet hook (the H hook will make a looser and wider scarf)

worsted weight yarn

Yarn needle

Pattern

Ch 38

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook. Dc in next 7 chs. Skip next 2 chs, dc in next 7 chs. (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, dc in next 7 chs. Skip next 2 chains, dc in next 7 chs, 2 dc in last ch. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as a dc). Dc in first st. Dc in next 7 sts, skip 2 sts, dc in next 7 sts, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st (which will be the ch 1 sp), dc in next 7 sts, skip 2 sts, dc in next 7 sts. 2 dc in last st (which is the ch 3 from the previous row) Turn. 

Repeat row 2 until you reach desired length for scarf.

Weave all ends.

My progress so far... you can add as many colors and rows as you would like.

Tuesday (Saturday) Tallies

I haven't made any progress on my patchwork blanket, but I have added a few rows to my chevron scarf

I've decided to add as many colors as I can...as random as possible. No color rules...just taupe thrown in every two or three color changes. A beautiful scarf from LazyTcrochet inspired my choice of taupe. I'm using my own pattern for this one.

I finished prepping the printer tray. I've been so busy with work and the house stuff so Michael took this project over (even he must be getting tired of waiting for me to make progress on all of these projects)...haha

He primed and used a whole can of spray paint while I worked a few hours last weekend.

It still needs a couple more coats of paint...and I'm out of course. So this project is on hold until I can get more turquoise paint.

I get so frustrated because I can't seem to finish anything. With the house buying and work, I just can't seem to find the time.

This weekend I'm working on the chevron scarf and patchwork, and smashing, and cleaning, and packing...maybe;)

Edit:  As of today (Sunday) I have another can of paint...so this project is back on again. Wait...It's raining here, but I am determined to finish today. We'll see;)

Rippling Again

I started rippling again after quite a long break.

I picked up at the light purple or lavender closest to the bottom and have added 5 more colors. The photo below shows all rows/ all of the colors. I took these late in the day with no flash...so the colors are just not vibrant as they should be.

I'm only adding about 7 more colors

Can you believe I started this ripple on November 1st or 2nd of last year?

I can't wait to be finished. Maybe this November...if I try;D

Slow But Steady Rippling

Here's another update on my ripple. I've been distracted this week, so progress has been slow. With working on all of those fingerless mitts, the ripple has been pushed to the side. I managed to add a few rows.
