I Did it Again

Yep... I did it again. I started a new crochet project without finishing one I've been working on.

When I looked outside this morning more new flowers had opened. I love Sunflowers. I did not plant this one...so it must have came from last year.

I love this pretty pinkish-purple one

Sorry if I'm boring you with the flowers, but I'm posting about these more for myself... so I can look back next year and beyond to see what we had. Sort of like a flower or gardening diary.

Today is a lazy day for me. I'm playing around with Instagram (I added a link to the sidebar) and looking back at old photos of vacations...making me want to go somewhere.  Maybe in a couple of weeks.

I hope you're enjoying your Sunday.

Finally a Porch Swing

A couple of weekends ago Michael came home with this...

I loooove it, and Ireland does too

After seeing Meredith's pretty blue swing over at Mereknits, I started looking. Michael surprised me with this one and offered to paint it the color of my choice. Can you guess? Yes... in a few days it will be a pretty blue...probably turquoise.

Speaking of my favorite color, I ordered this...

If I don't like it, I still have time to find another one. I think the color and style is perfect for the beach type of wedding. I didn't like the idea of wearing a long dress I would have to drag around (drag all over the sand)

What do you think?

Back to the 'Ol Patchwork

I've finally picked up the hook and dug out the patchwork...

I'm almost halfway there

Scratchy kitty would not go away...she just had to have her picture taken.
After visiting Janette over at The Green Dragonfly and seeing her kitty cat, Billy, I thought I would post a pic of Scratchy. They look so much alike.

Then I had to take a few of the flowers. Something new opens everyday...thanks to the previous owners

I have started my sea shell bouquet...I'll share photos in a few days

I think I'll go and crochet a couple squares before bedtime.

Sea Shell Project

My current project is going to be a fun one. I am making a wedding bouquet for myself.

Michael and I have decided to finally get married. Most people assume that we are already married, but we are not. We have been together for 6 years, and just now have decided to start making plans. I have been married once before, and I knew this time I wanted to do things differently...so my bouquet is not going to be a traditional one.

We are going to the Outer Banks (Hatteras Island) in September to do the deed...hahaha. The ceremony will be right on the beach of course. Only a couple of family members will be present... so I'm thinking almost an elopement.

The shells up top are mostly the ones we found from previous vacations in the Outer Banks...Ocracoke and Hatteras...so I really wanted to use those in the bouquet.

My favorite color is turquoise, so of course I'm using it in the wedding. (Speaking of turquoise, I am searching for a white to turquoise ombre dress, but have had no luck.) The bouquet will include turquoise sea stars and beads.

I'm really looking forward to this project.

Speaking of turquoise, I think I'll crochet a small bridal wrap or shawl. I don't want to wear all white.

 Inspiration for the bouquet...

and this one...but I will add the color of course

and this one...they are all so beautiful and different

All of these images were found through Pinterest, pinned to my beach wedding board. I think I linked back to original source.

I really hope I can figure this project out, because I have my heart set on mine looking similar to any of the ones in the inspiration photos.

I'll keep you updated.

Sorry no crochet, but I will post soon about something hook related.

Have a great week!

Pegboard Progress

I've made some progress with my yarn storage...I'm about halfway there

The scraps...I can see granny squares in my future

maybe this will motivate me to get busy on the patchwork again.

The cool, cloudy weather here this weekend has put me in the crocheting mood. I think I'll go make a few squares.

Have a great weekend.

Pretty Flowers

I love the flowers around the house. The previous owners planted all kinds of perennials.

I can't wait for all of the lilies and irises to open

I've never had a rose bush before...I sure hope I can figure out how to take care of it. Suggestions are welcome.

Ireland saw me with the camera and ran outside in her pajamas...silly girl

The rosemary keeps growing

I found this mushroom shaped bird house at an antique shop last week.

Sorry, no crochet this time. Maybe next time I can show some real progress on the yarn storage. I'm making a little progress...winding one or two yarn balls every day.

I guess I'm just more interested in spending time outside and enjoying spring:)

Have a great week
