Disney

We've been back from Disney for almost two weeks now. I ended up with over 1200 photos so it's taken me awhile to go through them all. Warning: This is a long, photo heavy post.
Our first photo of the trip was at the Florida Visitor Center

We spent the first night in Cocoa Beach and then got on the cruise ship the next day

Day 1
Our first view of the ship, the Disney Dream
Waiting to embark
The staterooms are huge with portholes large enough to sit in

The ship was gorgeous
and decorated for Halloween
First night was Halloween so Ireland dressed as Belle from Beauty and the Beast
Her dinner buddy
Day 2: Nassau, Bahamas

We chose the Blue Lagoon Island excursion. It was perfect because we wanted a less crowded experience. I've been here before and knew it would be more peaceful than the Atlantis experience.

It is a beautiful island. The waves and wind prevented the beach side from opening so we had to stay on the lagoon side.

Day 3: Castaway Cay

The island was also beautiful but a little crowded for my taste.
Waiting to get back on the ship

Enjoying the view before dark
Day 4: Bye Bye Disney Dream, Hello Disney World

We left the ship about 10am and made it to All Star Movies Resort about 11am

We stayed in the Dalmations section

The first day we explored the resort and then went to Downtown Disney in the evening. We ate at Paradiso 37, which was really good
and shopped at the World of Disney, which is the best shop ever. We were all Disney Drunk in that store. Even Michael was a little giddy there.

Day 5: Magic Kingdom

Space Mountain
Splash Mountain

Day 6: Epcot

Ireland found her country

Day 6: A break

We stayed at the resort pool all day and then went to Boma, a restaurant at Animal Kingdom Lodge

This place was amazing
The lobby
We agreed that if we ever had an extra 400 a night to spend, hahaha, we would stay here in a room with a view of the safari

Day 7: Animal Kingdom

My favorite park

Day 9: Hollywood Studios

Fantasmic the best end to our vacation
I wish I could post more, but just uploading these took a whole day.

Now that we're back I can focus on crocheting and knitting. I've been consumed by Disney for awhile now.

Finally Another Post

I'm still here. I bet you were beginning to wonder. I've been busy doing other not so crafty things. Ireland started first grade...

the first day
She also started cheerleading

Of course we've been consumed with planning for Disney. I'm absolutely obsessed. We leave at the end of October.
we're actually at 47 days and counting now
I've been crafting a little with the countdown above, and a couple of shirts...

and of course the pirate costume for Pirate Night on the cruise ship

I think I'm more excited than Ireland. I've bought everything Disney... costumes, backpacks for the parks, glow sticks, shoes for walking, Smash book supplies, lanyards, pins for trading, and more.

So you see, there has been little time for crocheting or knitting socks. Now I'm obsessed with planning the excursions, and hotel the night before the cruise, and dining plans at Disney World. We are going on the 3 day cruise to the Bahamas first. Then we'll go over to Disney World for 6 days. I wish we could squeeze in a day to go over to Tampa and Clearwater Beach. We'll see.

I can't wait.

Oh, I forgot to show you Michael's finished project of Ireland's room. That will be the next post. He has recently started a new one. He's now staining the exterior of the house.

Until next time,
Liz

Photo Projects

Instead of crocheting or knitting the past few weeks, I've been organizing photos and ordering photo products. I go through phases I guess.

I ordered this 16 x 20 canvas from Fabness about a week ago. I found a Groupon for it and only paid $25. I'm really happy with it. Even Michael was wowed by it. I've always been skeptical about ordering one of these, and unsure about image quality. But I have to say I'm really glad that I found the Groupon.

The image wraps around the sides and it feels pretty substantial and not cheap.

I definitely will be ordering more. Right now they are offering 65% off plus free shipping.

This weekend I've spent countless hours weeding the flower beds. It's so frustrating. It doesn't look like I have done a thing. Now I think I'll go give the dog a bath. Have I done a post about Jingles? I don't think I have. Maybe I'll do that in a day or two. Jingles is our sweet little foster dog. More about him later. He is really smelly right now. So I should bathe him while I'm in the mood.

Have a great week!

Unfinished Projects

The dreaded second sock syndrome has affected me. I've started them but have little motivation to finish. I've decided to finish the second jewelry display that I started a few months ago.
It's coming along.

Michael has decided to take on another project. Ireland wanted her room painted an aqua color. No problem... or so I thought. A few minutes ago I walked upstairs to find this...
Apparently there is a lot of sheetrock work to do before he can paint. So to prevent all of her things getting dusty, he decided to take everything out of her room and closet. Great, is all I can say. Something else for me to do. (At least I didn't have to pack it all up)
Her closet was pretty full. Oh well, at least the walls and ceiling will look better.
Here's the new color.
It is a pretty color.
Now I need to go do something with all of our vegetables from the garden.
I see cucumber dressing and fried squash in my future.

Oh, and I finally went through our wedding photos and put a few in a Shutterfly photo book. I had promised to make my mom a book and never have. Shutterfly is pretty good, but not my favorite. I haven't used them lately, so when I received a code for a free book, I decided to give them another try. I like MyPublisher and Photobook America. I also want to try Artifact Uprising. If you want to see the book just scroll down to the bottom or click on the link below. (It's not very clear but it's something I guess)

Anyway, I am determined to get back to work on those pesky second socks. Maybe tonight. I may even get caught up on my blog reading. I've had enough of a break and I miss visiting you all.

Have a great week!
