Pillow Or Afghan?

Pillow or afghan is the question. What should I do with the hexagons?

I'm thinking pillow for now. I am impatient and love those instant gratification projects. Or maybe I could make lots of hexis and make both. That'll take me 2 years...seriously.

I just finished my ripple afghan, finally, after almost exactly 2 years. I just get so bored with the same project.

I thought I would share a pillow that a fellow Raveler, Luisa, made from this pattern. Isn't it pretty?

and here is an afghan made by another Raveler, Andrea.

It's beautiful. I love seeing projects inspired by patterns found here.

I'll try to post some pics of the ripple sometime soon.
Here's one, but it isn't good. I'll try to take better ones.

Have a great weekend!

  2. Hi Liz, Maureen here. First time commenting on you very cool blog. I say pillow, too. Made a snowflake hexagon blanket for a Christmas gift last year and nearly lost my mind sewing it together. And now, I JUST decided yesterday to make my brother a ripple blanket for Christmas. Yes, Christmas 2013. Holy Crow. Hook on!

    1. Thanks Maureen. Wow Christmas, that's soon. I couldn't do it that fast. I just finished the ripple that I started in October 2011. I just got tired of it, and knew it was just for me and not a gift. And of course, wanted to do so many other things. I'm sure you can do it though.

  4. I am like you, quick projects instant gratification and enjoyment ... I get bored and impatient too so I would probably go with a pillow, but I have to admit a matching afgan would be gorgeous ..... Good Luck with your decision. Cant wait to see what you decide .... Love the colours you have chosen.

    1. yes I agree, but a matching afghan would be way to ambitious for me...considering I am the slowest afghan maker in the world

  5. You can't go wrong either way, but I swear blankets knock the socks off me, I just can't get them finished because I lose interest. Just ask the African Flower baby blanket still in time out.
    Hugs,

  9. Pillow, deffinitely. It is beautifull and quicker then the afgan. I am making a wedding dress out of hexagons and after 40 pieces i am already bored of the same pattern, so i would deffinitely do the pillow, and start a new project afterwords. Congratulations by the way for your blog and for your wedding as well. :)
